At University Bank, Service Means Action
To build community requires both desire and the commitment
to improve and not just words, but action. Every
year our officers are required to make a total of 500
calls outside of the bank and actively participate in
a local non-profit organization. The most effective
way to understand our community is to listen to it and
immerse ourselves in it.

the risk, offer assistance and guidance to small businesses,
and ultimately provide a structure to loan requests

University Bank is an innovator in providing new, much
needed services to inner city residents. We purchased
a local check-cashing business, relocated the operation
into the bank lobby, and cut the check-cashing fees
in half. It is our desire to guide individuals back
into mainstream banking products to reduce their cost
of obtaining cash.

But it takes a bank with vision and commitment to reach
out to small, minority-owned, and start-up businesses.
